Package Updates and UI Improvements and load-time improvements

Sat May 31 2025

Next.JS has been fully updated to the latest version. Too bad you can't use vunabilities to exploit this site anymore, huh? There were peer dependencies issues that prevent me from updating but now everything is update to date.. yay!

  • - Updated all packages to their latest versions, including Next.js, React, and Tailwind CSS.
  • - Improved the loading time of the site by optimizing images and reducing bundle size.
  • - Refactored the codebase to follow best practices and improve maintainability.
  • - Enhanced the UI with new components and styles for a more modern look.
  • - Fixed various bugs and issues reported by users.
  • - Improved accessibility features for better user experience.
  • - Added new features based on user feedback.

Sidebar Revolution and Authentication Overhaul

Sat May 03 2025

This has to be one of the longest updates I've ever done, the whole entire site had to be restructured to make this work. Took 7 hours with 29 files changed. Yikes.

  • - Completely redesigned the sidebar for a more modern look — now with 1 extra rem of width because size matters after all.
  • - Moved user profile from the bottom of the sidebar to a slick dropdown menu at the top. Your avatar's getting the VIP treatment it deserves.
  • - Fixed that annoying login bug where the site kept forgetting who you are every 5 minutes. It's not amnesia, it's just bad code — and now it's fixed.
  • - Authentication now performs periodic checks to make sure you stay logged in. Like an overprotective parent, but actually useful.
  • - Added a fancy new avatar display that shows your actual profile picture instead of random letters. Now your friends might actually recognize you.
  • - Created a new auth service that actually remembers you exist. Revolutionary concept, we know.
  • - Moved user controls to their own component because organization is apparently a thing people care about.
  • - Optimized sidebar components so they load faster than your dating app matches disappear.
  • - The sidebar now handles mobile devices better. Your thumbs can thank us later.
  • - Fixed a bunch of styling issues that were making the UI look like it was designed during the MySpace era.

GFN Updates: Snow, Bug Fixes, and More!

Mon Dec 16 2024

  • - There's snow dropping on the GFN page now! If you don't like snow, *you're wrong*. But also, you can turn it off in settings if you're a Grinch.
  • - Anchor Ads have been turned off for desktop — you're welcome. (P.S. if you use light mode, this doesn't even affect you. But then again, light mode? You've already made your peace with bad decisions.)
  • - Double scrolling has been fixed for NON-EU users. EU users, we'll get to you… eventually. Maybe. (jk, we'll fix it soon. Probably.)
  • - Some bugs were crushed. Not actual bugs, but still satisfying.
  • - Ads were optimized for locations. Now you won't feel like yelling, 'HOLY SMOKES GET THIS CRAP OUT OF HERE BRUH,' because they'll politely stay out of your GFN view.
  • - Fixed an issue with mobile scrolling that hit a little too close to home. You can now scroll without feeling like your phone hates you personally.
  • - The PDF merger is now fully optimized and is mostly bug-free. Emphasis on 'mostly.' If it crashes, just pretend it's an extra feature called 'Character Building.'
  • - MP4/MP3 converters are now more stable. No more random errors making you question your life choices while downloading your 57th anime opening.
  • - The server speeds are slightly faster. Like, 'blink and you'll miss it' slightly. But hey, progress is progress.
  • - New theme (previously mentioned but whatever). It's so good we had to remind you. Twice. You're welcome.
